Apple iOS 8 problems: Battery Draining, Wi-fi problems & slower performance
The recently launched Apple iOS 8 has been facing some problems from the users while it promised to deliver top-notch performance and experience.
For iOS 8, connectivity problem regarding Wi-Fi is a common issue. In addition, the new OS is causing fast battery consumption and iMessaging is not consistently working well. Some said their Apple devices have been performing slower after updating to iOS 8.
From Apples' thread, a lot of uses are daily posting their devices' Wi-Fi connectivity problem. Users from other devices like iPad mini with Retina display and Phone 5s have also complained about Wi-Fi connectivity. The Wi-Fi connection usually gets lost suddenly and users would need to restart the device to connect to Wi-Fi again. Speed tests are occassionally performed by those who upgraded and they found inconsistent speeds. After upgrading, upload speed for some falls to 2.9Mbps from 4.4 Mbps, while download speed falls to 4.4 Mbps from 21 Mbps.
Some users have complained that their devices have become quite useless with this new iOS. Once the upgraded device is restarted, it works fine for 5-10 minutes and after that it loses the ability to connect to Wi-Fi. Withough Wi-FI connectively, the phones and the tablets can hardly be used for anything anymore.
Sound problem has been another issue. Some users claimed that upgrading made all sounds of the games and other installed apps vanish. Only music and YouTube videos work properly with sound. Some users complained on the Apple thread that they can't even find any sound from the iPad mini applications after upgrading to iOS8.
Another user even reported that when using earphones on the iPad, there was only sound on the right ear and nothing on the left. The earphones worked fine with other Apple devices so this could not be a problem with the earphones.
Devices like iPad Air, iPhone 5s are responding much slowler after updating in spite of having powerful specifications. Some complained about the overheating issue of iPhone 5s.
Apple should certainly address these issues. Users should also think twice of updating until these bugs are fixed.
