Harvest Crusade with Greg Laurie Highlights Spiritual Awakening as 50,000 Pray

This past weekend, the Harvest Crusade marked a significant milestone with its return to Angel Stadium for a one-night event. The 35th annual crusade achieved remarkable success, drawing 250,000 attendees, including 50,000 in person and 200,000 viewers online. The event was even translated into 9 languages, including ASL. The venue was filled to capacity, with thousands more participating in worship from outside the arena, highlighting the extraordinary demand and spiritual fervor surrounding the event.
This year's crusade featured powerful performances from renowned Christian artists Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham, Brooke Ligertwood, and Harvest Worship. The event's impact was amplified through 500 radio stations nationwide and the support of 272 Southern California churches, all contributing to a transformative experience. Evangelist Greg Laurie spoke on the themes of the meaning of life, the afterlife and how to come into a relationship with Christ in his message, "The Sinner's Prayer."
"A lot of people have written California off. It seems like the #1 export of California is Californians. But I have hope for our great state. I pray what happened here tonight at Angel Stadium may spark Christians to pray for a spiritual awakening in our state and nation. With all the uncertainty in America in this political season, we need to look to God. The last great awakening in America happened in California. TIME magazine dubbed it 'The Jesus Revolution.' We need to pray, 'Do it again, Lord!'" said Laurie.
Laurie went down to the field where 3,500 people gathered to pray that 'sinner's prayer' as he asked the 50,000 people attending to join in the prayer as an affirmation. In addition, 1,500 more people watching online reported praying along with Laurie at the event.
Harvest Ministries is also preparing for the highly anticipated 2nd annual Jesus Revolution Baptism event this Saturday, July 27, at Pirate's Cove Beach. After baptizing 4,500 people last year, making it then the largest baptism in American history, this year's baptism event will serve as a tangible sign of the growing spiritual awakening in California, further reflecting the broader impact of the Harvest events.
The surge in participation and engagement at Harvest's recent events, including the packed Angel Stadium crusade and the upcoming Jesus Revolution Baptisms, underscores the transformative work Harvest is facilitating across the state and beyond. These developments are clear indicators of a profound spiritual movement and a genuine awakening, demonstrating that God's work is indeed alive and active in California.
Since their inception in 1990, Harvest Crusades have reached millions worldwide, with over 700,000 people making commitments to Christ through these events.
