Chris Tomlin’s ‘Good Friday Nashville’ Exceeds Expectations

Far exceeding expectations for Grammy® winner Chris Tomlin's "Good Friday Nashville' concert event this year, additional seats were opened 360 degrees around Bridgestone Arena due to demand for tickets. Last year's inaugural concert became the largest ticketed Christian concert in the history of Bridgestone Arena. The concert net proceeds will again go to non-profit Tennessee Kids Belong (TKB). Nashville resident Tomlin has committed to performing the 'Good Friday Nashville' concert ongoing and giving back net proceeds to the community every year. 'Good Friday Nashville' 2019 is set for April 19.
"We are so humbled by all of you who filled Bridgestone Arena with worship and gave to the children of Tennessee. Our hope is that every year this event grows even bigger," shared Tomlin. "We rejoice and sing because we know that our chains are gone and we come to God with a grateful heart for all he has done."
Tomlin was on stage from beginning to end of the two and a half hour show, along with special guests Kim Walker Smith, Matt Maher, Christine D'Clario, Tauren Wells and Pat Barrett. Best-selling author/Pastor Levi Lusko spoke.
Award-winning vocal group Rascal Flatts, longtime friends of Tomlin, made a surprise appearance and performed their hits "Changed" and "Bless the Broken Road." They joined Tomlin and Wells for a moving rendition of "How Great Thou Art."
Also during the concert, Tennessee Governor Haslam and First Lady Haslam joined Tomlin on stage to thank Nashville for embracing the Good Friday concerts and helping children. Through their TNFosters Initiative with spearheading partner TKB, tremendous goals were reached in the first year seeing a 40% increase in new foster families and more children being placed in forever families.
'Good Friday Nashville' was produced by Awakening Events, presented by K-LOVE, Air1, The Fish and WAY-FM.
This Thursday, April 5, Tomlin will launch his "Worship Night In America Tour" in Rochester, New York at the Blue Cross Arena. The tour will play 24 cities across the U.S. this spring.
