Melissa Manchester Releases Her New Holiday Single, "Let There Be More Light"

Veteran pop singer/songwriter Melissa Manchester is bringing some holiday cheer to Jewish music fans with the release of her first-ever Chanukah single, "Let There Be More Light," which is available now at iTunes, Amazon and other online music sellers.
An official video for the uplifting tune can be viewed now at Manchester's official website and YouTube channel, as well as at StandWithUs.com and Vimeo.com. The clip, which was directed by Paul Gervasi, features appearances by the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale, the students of Wise School and others. Melissa produced the video in partnership with the Los Angeles-based a pro-Israel advocacy group Stand With Us.
"The overall theme of 'Let There Be More Light' is that everyone can be a source of light - that is, a person of reason, compassion and understanding who makes a choice to do a good deed, a 'mitzvah,' every day, not just at holiday time," Manchester explains about the song, which she wrote.
Melissa adds that in writing the tune, she hoped to create a song as "wonderfully simple, hummable and delightfully repetitive" as José Feliciano's Christmas classic "Feliz Navidad."
Manchester has a run of holiday concerts on her upcoming 2016 schedule. They include two star-studded "Colors of Christmas" shows - on December 9 in Palm Desert, California, and December 10 in Cerritos, California, respectively - and a series of seven headlining performances at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Melissa itinerary continues into 2017 through March 3 and 4 appearances in New York City.
