Nexus 5 vs. Nexus 6 Features, Specs, Latest News, Updates, Price: A Comprehensive Comparison
Motorola has seized the Nexus series from LG as the Nexus 6 is coming with bigger screen, more power and last but not the least many expenditure. It may be a bit expensive but the ravishing design, smart look; highly configured specification is certainly eye catching.
Google Nexus 5 has 4.95-inch display screen while the Nexus 6 has 5.9-inch display size. The margin gets wider in the pixel density too as the Nexus 6 offers 495 pixels per inch with greater screen size and the Nexus 5 has 445 pixels per inch. The display resolution of Nexus 5 sticks to 1080 x1920 pixels resolution whereas the new Nexus 6 has 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. The Tech Radar mentioned that the latest AMOLED display screen type is much brighter and sharper than the IPS+ display type.
Both the devices offer heavy-duty hardware configuration where the Nexus 5 provides Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset with Quad-Core 2.3GHx processor. The GPU segment has Adreno 330. The Nexus 6 beats its own predecessor by a large margin with Quad-Core 2.7GHz snapdragon 805 processor and powerful Adreno 420 GPU. The RAM slot previously had 2GB of RAM while the latest version has 3GB of RAM.
Nexus 5 is equipped with 8MP camera while Nexus 6 has 13MP rear facing camera. Theoretically, the margin is huge but since megapixels are not everything for good picture quality, it is tough to judge how much the camera department has improved mentioned in the DroidLife. Both the devices lag the expandable microSD card slot facility but the internal storage has increased in Nexus 6. Nexus 5 had 16GB to 32GB internal storage model while the Nexus 6 has 32GB and 64GB model available.
Battery life has been focused by the Motorola to increase it to 3220mAh battery capacity from the 2300mAh battery pack offered by LG. According to GSMARENA, 330 hours standby time or 24 hours talk time is expected with full battery charge.
Google Nexus 6 is a luxurious choice according to its price. The Nexus 5 is a budget device that costs around $349 but the Nexus 6 comes nowhere near to its predecessor price. The expensive Google Nexus 6 costs around $649 but the company claims its hardware specification and design justifies the price.
