JPMorgan's Jamie Dimon: Diagnosed With Throat Cancer, Not Even Cancer Stopped Him From Doing His Best
JP Morgan's chief executive, James "Jamie" Dimon was announced in July that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer. The good part is this is totally a curable case and Jamie Dimon's diagnosis was excellent. He completed his treatment recently and he has a letter stating that "he is feeling fine after eight long weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.
"Jamie Dimon" is an American company executive who is the present chairman, CEO and president of JP Morgan Chase. This is one of the major (Big Four) banks of USA. Earlier he worked as a Class A director of the Board of Directors of the New York Federal Reserve. Time Magazine included him in the list of the world's 100 most influential people for the years 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011.
"Jamie Dimon" also received the recognition as one of the Best CEOs list given by the Institutional Investor from the year 2008 to 2011. Also, in 2011, he was awarded as the CEO of the Year.
"Jamie Dimon's" cancer battle is doing well and he is now following his family, friends and employees' suggestion that he should value his health. His progress is constantly monitored by his doctors and within a few months they will identify whether he is already free from cancer.
Although Dimon is still sick and undergoing treatments he surprised other senior executives by his appearance in the bank. He was strained to miss some of the significant events to concentrate more on his medication.
He is having his medical sessions at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and usually goes to work during the weekdays after it. Luckily, the hospital is only 30 blocks from JP Morgan's Park Avenue headquarters.
He is actively involved in most JP Morgan's activities throughout his treatment. Dimon was advised by Warren Buffet's to rest often and watch "Breaking Bad" to pass time during the treatment. Buffett is a prostate cancer survivor and received treatment in 2012.
It is very evident that cancer did not stop Jamie Dimon from working. He still manages to keep an eye in the largest US bank's ventures. He continues to nurture his success along with the company's growing worldwide impact. Not even cancer stopped him from doing his best.
