The "scheming dark" sorcerer's return to Mortal Combat X team was confirmed in the game's new trailer.Paste Magazine The dark villain is first seen in the animated television series of the online game, "Mortal Kombat: Defenders of Realm."
According to Netherrealm executive producer Shaun Himmerick, Quan Chi is expected to play a key role in the game's story. Similar to the initial available playing characters of the game, the sorcerer is set to have "three variations with slightly different power."
"As a Sorcerer, he can use spells to bolster his own power or damage his opponents, and as a Summoner he can call a giant bat from the Netherrealm to wreak havoc on his enemies. As a Warlock, Quan Chi gains the ability to open interdimensional dark portals."
With these abilities, Quan Chi will surely be one of the darkest villains in Mortal Combat X that is set to be released on April 14, 2015. The game's tenth installment is currently underway, according to Christian Post.
Developed by NetherRealm Studios, the tenth installment of the fighting game series Mortal Kombat X is currently on its development stage with its character-fighter lineup expanding accordingly.
Game developers are united in saying that except Quan Chi, there will be more additional characters that will be included on the Mortal Kombat X.
Another character that is announced to make a comeback is the Shokan race member, Goro. The four-armed half human and half-dragon character was initially a boss character in the original mortal combat game.
The remaining characters' identities remain unrevealed for now but fans can expect more news soon.
