'Apple iPad Air 2': Features of Next-Generation iPad Air Model Revealed
With fans still recuperating from the consecutive announcements by Apple on the release of iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and Apple iWatch, Apple fans are now hoping for the unveiling of the state-of-the-art tablets from the Cupertino-based company. Aside from the large iPad Pro, the fans are also eagerly waiting for the release of iPad Air 2.
Apple has another major event set up for October 16 and the company will be presenting the latest in their iPad, report says. It is also rumored that Apple with use the event to announce its next-generation iPad Air model as well as announce updates on iPad Pro and launch their latest operating system, OS X Yosemite.
Users can expect the next generation of iPad Air to be notably thinner and slightly lighter by 0.5 mm compare to its earlier version. This could mean that the upcoming tablet will be the thinnest in the market.
The iPad Air 2 will feature a fully-laminated display just like the iPhone. The screen size is also kept at 9.7 inches and with a resolution of 2048 x 1356. Aside from these, it is also rumored that the main camera will be upgraded from 5MP to 8MP and will have a FaceTime HD front camera - a feature a lot of Apple fans have been waiting for.
The new iPad Air is also expected to integrate an A8 processor, 2GB of RAM, storage options of 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB, and Touch ID fingerprint button with full Apple Pay functionality.
The upcoming iPad Air will also presenr some modifications in its design such as a redesigned speaker grille and depressed volume buttons. Its microphones have also been repositioned from the top of the device next to the rear camera module and on the laterals. It will be available in a gold version, BGR reports.
Starting price for iPAd Air 2 is rumored to be at around $500.
The iPad Air 2 is a follow up to the iPad Air. It is bound to be the ceaseless update to the current best tablet in the market according to TechRadar. Apple will be looking forward to its domination at the top end of the market.
