'American Horror Story' Companion Series 'American Crime Story' Based on O.J. Simpson From Creator Ryan Murphy Coming to FX
"American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy has a new show coming to FX titled "American Crime Story". The network has agreed to a 10-episode premiere, no release date has been set.
The full title for the premiere season at least will be "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson". They will base the episodes around Jeffrey Toobin's book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, and his popular trial back in the 90's. according to THR. The series will focus on the perspective from the lawyers on both sides.
"This is an exciting project for me, as I've been looking for the right property which could serve as an extension of the American Horror Story brand I love so much. The O.J. case was as tragic as it was fascinating- it seemed like everyone had a stake in the outcome. It was really the beginning of the modern tabloid age," Ryan said in a statement.
"American Horror Story" Season 4 titled 'Freak Show' premieres on Wednesday, October 8th at 10/9c.
FX also released an extended trailer last week to let you 'see whats under the big top'. They released the trailer on their official Facebook page, which you can watch now HERE.
Season 4 will be set in Jupiter, Florida in the 1950s and filmed in New Orleans for the second year in a row. Creator Murphy stated, "If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there's some more clues in that year. It's a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent so I'm very excited!"
