Halo 5 'Guardians' News and Release Date: New Halo Video Game Announced By Microsoft! To Be Released By Next Year!
Microsoft announced during the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo, a new upcoming video game titled Halo 5 Guardians as an addition to the Halo game series.
The Halo Game Series is a top selling first-shooter science fiction video game franchise originally developed by Bungie.
The game is currently being developed by Video Game Maker 343 Industries, a subsidiary of Microsoft Studios, exclusively for the Xbox One game console. It is a sequel to the previous game titled Halo 4 that was released in 2012.
The sequel will be Halo's first Xbox One video game, following a decision by the developers to depart from the Xbox 360's hardware. According to Bonnie Ross of 343 Industries, Xbox One has the potential to broaden the game's scope.
It was said that Microsoft first planned last January, for a release of the game's Beta version by the end of this year 2014, but they later moved the schedule back to 2015.
343 Industries later confirmed the upcoming sequel won't be coming out until next year.
The exact release date of Halo 5 Guardians as of this time, remain uncertain, but looking at the Microsoft Store, it is listed with a December 31, 2015 release.
According to reports, the above date is a placeholder until developers of the game decide for a release date.
In conjunction with the release of Halo 5 Guardians video game next year, a television series based on the game is also expected to be launched, currently being produced by the well-known filmmaker Steven Spielberg.
