Originals Season 2 Spoilers, Reveals, Reviews and Plot Updates: Sebastian Roche Teases the Return of Mikael and Esther
If you watched the previous season climax, then you know that the patriarch Mikaelson is back and that is definitely not good for any of the vampires in the square or for Klaus himself. According to E News, actor Sebastian Roche has confirmed his appearance for the next season of the highly anticipated installment as Mikaelson for at least 5 episodes of the upcoming series. In fact, Roche was sure that his role would return for the second installment and apparently before, even though the producers killed off his character in the sister series, the Vampire Diaries.
The actor who is 50 years old shared that the fans of the spin-off series are going to see a lot of confrontations especially now that most of the originals are coming back for an epic reunion. The center of this will be the feud between his hybrid son, Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan and Mikaelson himself. There will also be some reunion scenes played between Mikaelson and his wife Esther who was torn away from him by death. He took the blame for it, but now they will come back together. It is not certain that she is the same person he knew thousands of years ago, but she is still the embodiment of his wife, albeit in a stolen young girl's body.
According to Roche, "It will be quite interesting when Mikael finds out that he's surrounded by his entire family again. The emotional ramifications of that encounter will be fascinating. Even as Esther is coming back to life using the body of a young witch, she will also take along one of her sons. This could either be Finn or Kol. Due to the family reunion and the threat from Dad and Klaus's weakness, we could see the return of Rebecca to help Klaus and Elijah fight off Mum and Dad. Aside from the main family, the other characters like Marcel and a budding relationship with Cami, played by Leah Pipes.
