Sunset Overdrive Release Date: New Third-Person Shooter Open World Video Game by Insomniac Games! Coming your Way Very Soon to Be Published by Microsoft Studios!
American Video Game Developer Insomniac Games announced, during last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, the development of a new and upcoming video game titled Sunset Overdrive.
Sunset Overdrive is a third-person shooter, action and opens world video game that lets players traverse the metropolis Sunset City in the future time of 2027.
Microsoft Studios plans to publish the game on October 28 of this year 2014 in America and two days later in Europe, for the Xbox One game console.
The game focuses on a world that is being controlled by a corporation called FizzCo. Players will have a chance to customize one of FizzCo's employees according to skin color, body and gender the players prefer.
In the game, the company just threw a celebration party following their newly released energy drink they call "Overcharge Delirium XT." Players are now tasked in this game as the main FizzCo character to clean up all the mess that was left behind from the party. Later, gamers will also have to combat villainous characters called in the game as "OD'd humans". They are humans who mutated from drinking too much energy drink.
Players can hold eight weapons at a time. Weapons include an assault rifle and a funny grenade launcher that releases teddy bears! As players progress through the game's storyline, they will gain access to new weapons and can also buy them from shops.
The main idea of the game was developed by Insomniac's Drew Murray and Marcus Smith one day while they were working on Resistance three back in 2011. They took ideas from a documentary called Hyena Men of Kenya while adding influences from Tank Girl comics and the novel titled "I am Legend." They initially presented the idea to CEO Ted Price of Insomniac but failed to impress the first time. After two weeks, they made it through!
Ted Price calls the game as a reflection of Insomniac's personality, comparing the humor to that of Ratchet and Clank.
