Boyz II Men New Album 'Collide' Releasing Fall 2014, Full Tracklist Revealed, See Here
Boyz II Men have announced that they will be releasing a new album this Fall titled, Collide, and the surprising news is that the album will include zero ballad, which is clearly what they are best known for.
Collide is set to officially release on October 21st.
Their last release was their 20th anniversary album, Twenty, in 2011, but the group has been busy doing a residency at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas in March 2013.
The now trio of Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman make up the group and Morris shared with Billboard about the groups new style, "I think fans are going to be blown away by that," says Morris, "because the history of what they know is that Boyz II Men sings ballads and love songs. There's not a whole lot of that on this album. Unfortunately, people don't listen to ballads anymore. We listen to them, because we grew up on them and we love them, but radio doesn't play them. We're in a very fast society where nobody wants to take time to slow down, so the music has to reflect that."
Boyz II Men however has decided to have their lead single be "Losing Sleep" which sounds like a more "traditional" track, "The singing style and the harmonies is typical of Boyz II Men, and that's one of the reasons why we decided on the song."
Collide Tracklist:
01 Me Myself & I
02 What Happens In Vegas
03 Diamond Eyes
04 Better Half
05 Underwater
06 Believe Us
07 Don't Stop
08 Already Gone
09 As Long As I'm With You
10 Losing Sleep
11 So What
12 Collide
Boyz II Men are top ranking members with regard to time spent at number one in Billboard history, currently (as of 2014) at the number one, three, and four spots. Furthermore, when "On Bended Knee" took the number 1 spot away from "I'll Make Love to You", Boyz II Men became only the third artists ever (after The Beatles and Presley) to replace themselves at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Boyz II Men are among a select group of artists that have held at the number-one spot for at least 50 weeks cumulatively, placing them just fourth on that list behind Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Mariah Carey. These achievements were enough to earn Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard magazine's fourth most successful musical group of the 1990s.
