Goosebumps Movie Release Date, Reveals, News, Reviews and Plot Updates: Jack Black shall be Playing R.L. Stine
If you were a child of reading age in the 90's then you definitely remember the Goosebumps series. The books which were written by R.L Stine were then later converted into a series that run originally from 1995 TO 1998. The movie was set to b shot in 1998 with the ever so talented Mr. Tim Burton directing but was later shelved. In 2008 Columbia Pictures acquired the rights to the film. Since then the film has been tossed from producer to writer with the story changing finally settling on Rob Letterman to direct. Mr. Letterman has worked on a number of movies including Gulliver's Travels, Shark Tale and Shrek. His expertise in movies targeted at a younger audience is definitely a plus.
Considering that the books are a collection of totally unrelated stories for a long time it was unknown what storyline would be exploited, the plot decided on is definitely a winner. A teenage boy moves to anew town right next door to the author R.L Stine who has all his monsters trapped in the books he writes, when they are accidentally released it is up to R.L Stine, Zach Cooper and Hannah Stine to trap the monsters and send them back to whence they came. The plot is amazingly cri and the angle was quite unexpected.
Jack Black shall be playing R.L Stine. Jack is a really good choice and showed in the flick School of Rock that he has a way with children. This will be the second time Mr. Stine and Rob Letterman are working together, the first time being in Gulliver's Travels. Dylan Minnette shall be taking up the role of Zach Cooper who has played several roles including a young Michael Scoffield in the show Prison Break. Odya Rush who has a much shorter C.V than the Master Minette shall be acting opposite him as Hannah Stine. Other names coming to the movie are Steve Ogg, Amy Ryan, Jillian Bell, Halston Sage and Steve Krueger. R.L Stine shall also be making an appearance.
