Zollander 2 May Just Happen; Will Farrell Teases That A Read-through of the Script is Happening Soon 

Last month, co-writer Justin Theroux confirmed that Ben Stiller and himself had completed a script for Zoolander 2 and that it is being polished for the film.

"Yeah, we've got a script for the sequel, and we've just been in talks again. We're trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don't want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running," reveals Theroux through Slashfilm.

Will Farrell, who played the villainous but oh so chic Mugatu, has revealed recently some news on the sequel.

"We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it," Farrell said according to JoBlo.

Zoolander 2 has been in development for years, and this recent news is encouraging. If the sequel does happen what will it be about? "So, the movie will begin at a time when the whole world has moved on from Derek and Hansel because they're so ancient history. It's about them having to reinvent themselves and try to become relevant again," Stiller said to Slashfilm.

 Zoolander was released back in 2001 and is a comedy about the fashion industry. It mainly focuses on the character of Derek Zoolander, played by Ben Stiller, and his attempt to become the greatest male model ever. However, things don't go his way as a new male model, Hansel, played by Owen Wilson, has taken over the spotlight. Fashion boss, Mugatu, plans on assassinating the prime minister of Malaysia so that they can retain cheap child labor in the country. Mugatu then turns Zoolander into his pawn to carry on the assassination.
