Grimm Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers and News: New Monsters Revealed for Upcoming Season
Entertainment Weekly has revealed new concept arts depicting new creatures for Grimm Season 4. Wesen, German for 'Creature,' as Grimm calls them are monsters who live among us, hiding in plain sight. EW exclusively revealed four new wesen monsters that will be the villains for season 4.
The first of which is called Schinderdiv. "How do you explain people who are only out for themselves and do anything to achieve a goal?" asks executive producer David Greenwalt. That's exactly what a Schinderdiv is. They are the embodiment of ruthlessness and selfishness. The next is the Gedächtnis Esser, which looks to be half-man and half-octopus. It's four tentacles will burrow into a victim's head causing the creature to steal their memories and leave them with dementia. "A lot of what we do is try to explain real-world problems, like in this case, identity theft," says executive producer Jim Kouf. Heftigauroch is a bull-like wesen that when it is provoked, it will go into a rage. This wesen is disguised as a boxer who is very much a peaceful person, but when it comes to bring out the horns, he literally does so. "When a bull is brought into a ring it doesn't necessarily want a fight requires being hit with picadors to get mad - this Wesen requires the same treatment," Kouf says. Lastly, we have Golem. Golem however is not really a wesen, he is a creature that originated from the Jewish religion, and he serves as a protector for the weak. He is made of clay and stands at 10-feet tall.
On the season 3 finale that aired back in May, Nick (David Giuntoli) has lost his wesen-seeking powers and now must rely on Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) to spot the monsters who are taking their human form. It's been reported that Season 4 will pick up right after where the season 3 finale left off.
Grimm Season 4 premieres on October 24 on NBC.
