Supergirl TV Show Remake, Rumors And Latest Updates: DC Comics And Warner Bros Working On Remake Of A New Supergirl TV Series
We have the latest for you on the remake, rumors and latest updates of Supergirl TV show. Fans of DC comics and DC Entertainment have much to look forward to as they revealed that they are bringing Supergirl to screens in a series this year. The lack of female driven comics prompt this decision but many lack to acknowledge the fact that long before The X-men or Spider man appeared on screens and even Before Michael Keaton put on the bat suit, a female superhero starred her own big budget film. Her name was Supergirl (played by Helen Slater), back then in 1984 the movie was regarded as terrible.
30 years later the remake of this classical failure is in progress this time for TV. Greg Berlanti and Ali Adler, writers and directors of the TV superhero series "No Ordinary Family" are working with Warner Bros. Television to produce this new superhero series "Supergirl" Hollywood reporters report. Geoff Johns, DC chief creative officer, as reports claim is also involved in the making of this series.
It's unclear the title the series will have or whether it will be a 30 minutes or an hours long series, what is clear is that where marvel is dominating the movies in theatres, DC characters are much bigger and well developed in presence of television, where Arrow, The Flash, Gotham and Constantine are all on the fall schedule.
Created in the late 50's, the Supergirl comic book, the Hollywood reports say the show "will be a new interpretation of the Supergirl character and her story."
Yesterday, Bleeding Cool reported that DC comics is actively pitching Supergirl TV series with Michael Green ("Heroes," "Smallville") attached as a writer and producer on the series. Confirmations from E! Online revealed not only the original story but also that CW will not be the home of the series despite being the first place it was pitched. Last years "Man of Steel" introduced us to Kara Zor-el and its, unclear if the new TV series will have ties to the character as Supergirl but with the other TV projects it is most likely to be different.
The cousin to Man of Steel, Supergirl adapted into a feature film in 1984, often considered one of the worst superhero films starring Helen Slater as the character. Laura Vandervoort later appeared as the character on the CW's "Smallville" in the later season. All we can hope for is a new and better change in this new series when it premieres.
