Days of Our Lives Casting News: Allison Sweeney is Back, To Reveal a New Character
Days of Our Lives, the long-running daytime soap opera airing on NBC has surely cast a long spell with the viewers as it had been running since November 8, 1965. Fans must be excited to know who will join the soap opera in the coming episodes. It has been announced recently that fan-favorite Sami Brady, portrayed by Allison Sweeney will make her final appearance on the long-running soap. But there is good news, she is back on the soap but as a director.
"Aww! It's like going home. So happy to be back in Salem, directing! Love visiting my peeps. @laurenkoslow @deidrehall," she says in a tweeet last August. 28.
The official announcement of Sweeney taking the director's chair this time came from her Twitter page, accompanied by a photo of herself with co-stars Lauren Koslow (Kate) and Deidre Hall (Sami's mother). So are you guys excited to see her direct the soap? Will she take the soap to a different height with her directing prowess? We will find out soon, although no official announcement yet from NBC when she will start directing.
Meanwhile, it's been announced that a mystery character by the name of Serena will join the cast. She will be played by actress Melissa Archer. Her character is set to make her screen debut on the show on December 5. Reports say that she has already started filming episodes for her role. More details about her are kept confidential, but what we know right now is she has some ties with someone in Salem. Her addition to the cast also marks her reunion with former co-star Kassie DePaiva in ABC's One Life to Live.
