Iron Man 4 Movie Reveals, Review and Plot: Robert Downey Junior may be Moving on from the Role of Iron Man
The marvel universe has lit up like a Christmas tree this year and it is just going to get busier. First there was the Avengers, Captain America, and Iron man and now we have other installments that have just begun like guardians of the galaxy, ant-man which is going to premiere next year. The fans are wondering whether there is going to be an Iron Man 4 in the works as Robert Downey Junior is not giving a lot of information. Well obviously, there will be an Iron Man 4; however, Robert Downey is going to be in the movie.
For one, we know that this movie which has not even gone into the planning phases because actors are caught in between other installments. As such, Robert Downey has signed contracts for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, and Avengers 3 which might premiere 2017? However, he has not confirmed Iron Man 4. This movie is probably going to have a 2018 release date meaning the actor would be 58 by that time. As concerns age, the actor stated, he does not want to overstay his welcome with the fans and slow down the edge of the role so he might move on. This is not the first time that we have heard him or other members of the avengers being replaced in their respective installments including Captain America and Thor. However, when he was asked if he would return for the role if asked, he said he would oblige but the decision remains above his pay grade.
One working theory makes use of the comics where Captain Rhodes served some time at Stark International as his pilot and eventually became his close friend. However, due to inner demons Stark became an alcoholic and during a fight with the villain Magma, he was defeated and escaped. He went to Rhodes for help discharging his armor and was to inebriated to care about his identity being revealed. At this time Stark passed out and Rhodes donned the armor and the rest is history. The plot may not go the same way, but we may see Don Cheadles Rhodes becoming the next version of Iron Man in the fourth installment.
