The Flash Season 1 Release Date, Latest News: Arrow Spin Off spearheaded by Barry Allen aka The Flash

Looks like those who have been following Arrow and who are DC aficionados will get another hero right up to the small screen. The Flash season 1 was green lighted by CW last May 8, 2014 and will be written and produced by Grey Berlanti, Andrew Kreisbery and Geoff Johns, the same crew who gave you Arrow and will be the spin-off of the series itself. The series is intended to be the origin story of Barry Allen,

The Flash is based on the popular DC superhero whose true identity is assistant police forensic investigator, Barry Allen. He will be played by Grant Austin. He will be joined by Candice Patton who will play Barry's best friend and the daughter of Detective West, Iris West; Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne aka Professor Zoom. Danielle Panabaker as Dr. Caitlin Snow, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon, Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells, Jesse Martin as Detective Joe West.

They will also be joined by the man who played Barry Allen/Flash on the 1990 television version, John Wesley Shipp. He will be playing the recurring role of Henry Allen.

Also included is Prison Break's Wentworth Miller who will be playing the role of Leonard Snart, otherwise known as Captain Cold. The Flash season 1 spoilers ahead: He is slated to appear by episode 4.

It is notable that Barry has made a crossover recurring character at its fellow CW produced DC television series, Arrow.
