Pillar: Band Reunited And Performs For The First Time In Years At Big Ticket Festival
Pillar, Christian rock band, is set to perform for the first time since they officially reunited in early May at the Big Ticket Festival in Gaylord, Michigan from June 20- 22.
On June 19, the band tweeted, "Flying out to Michigan tomorrow to rock with the guys for the first time in 5 years and for the first Pillar show in a few years. www.bigticketfestival.com - Kalel."
Pillar's first performance will be on Friday at 4:35 p.m. at the Main Stage. They will be performing amongst an excitingline-up, including Everfound, We are Leo, Project 86, Hawk Nelson, Sidewalk Prophets, Chris Tomlin and speaker, Bob Lenz.
Michael Wittig (Kalel), bassist for the band, seems excited about the performance. On Facebook, he posted a picture of the bass he intends to play during the afternoon performance on Friday and captioned it, "The bass I plan to jam on Fri in MI. The Ernie Ball String Ray given to me by Brian Ball himself. -Kalel."
The Big Ticket Festival is an annual Christian music festival that is run by the White Stone Project, a nonprofit corporation that aims to glorify God through various events, media and social justice causes. It features musical performances, inspirational speakers, extreme sports, a kids zone, an Indie Artist Competition, the FCA Big Run for the One, a prayer tent and various ministries. This year will mark the 8th Annual Big Ticket Festival, which has become one of the largest faith-based festivals in the United States.
In early May, Pillar, who had been mostly inactive for a couple of years, released an 'official statement' in an online video saying that they would be reuniting in the summer of 2013 and working on a new record. They have already begun work on the new album, 'The Storm,' but have not mentioned a release date just yet.
Following the Big Ticket Festival Performance, Pillar also has plans to perform again in Concord, North Carolina on July 20.
