Gone Girl Movie News, Trailer, and Updates: New Trailer Released During the Emmys
Gone Girl is the film adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name written by Gillian Flynn back 2012.
The story revolves around the mysterious disappearance of Nick Dunne's wife, Amy. Emerging clues suggests that Nick had murdered his wife, but he protests his innocence. It later becomes apparent that they didn't have the best marriage, and Nick might not be telling the truth.
The film is directed by David Fincher, who is most well-known for directing films such as Seven, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Social Network, and Fight Club. Author Gillian Flynn has stated that the film adaptation will stray away from the novel preferring to unfold the story in a different structure. The film is being produced by 20th century Fox and Regency Enterprises.
During the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, 2oth Century Fox dropped the new teaser trailer on TV.
With the film being released during fall, it could be a contender for the Oscars next year.
Production on the film began back in September 2013 and lasted for about five weeks. In January 2014 it was announced that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross would be back to score the film. The collaborators have previously won an Academy Award for Original Score for David Fincher's film The Social Network back in 2011. They also worked on the music for Fincher's The Girl With the dragon Tattoo.
Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, Rosamund Pike as Amy Elliott-Dunne. The film also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, Kim Dickens, and Patrick Fugit. Gone Girl is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2014.
