2015 Superbowl Halftime Show Performance Going to Country Music Star Carrie Underwood?

2015 Superbowl Halftime Show Going to Country Star Carrie Underwood?
Rumors have begun popping up online, starting at sports website Terez Owens that the 2015 Superbowl halftime show has been awarded to country star, Carrie Underwood. This might come as a surprise to some, not because of any lack of talent (she is one of the best singers out there period) but just maybe not at the top of your list of halftime performers.
An online petition started curculating last week to try and get the National Football League to get comedic singer Weird Al Yankovic to perform the halftime show at the Super Bowl next year.
Weird Al fans will be bummed about the news of the "American Idol" winner potentially receiving the spot. Underwood is a household name to most Americans and she always comes through with a strong vocal performance live. If they do select her, the big thing will be seeing if she can handle the world's biggest stage and keep fans attention. The almost endless production that they provide with staging really helps enhance the experience.
Many super bowl halftime shows leave the fans somewhat disappointed, but last year's artist Bruno Mars put on a wonderful show (and sang live) to really set the bar high for 2015.
Carrie Underwood, 31, rose to national fame as the winner of the Season 4 of "American Idol" in 2005 on FOX. Underwood has since become one of the most prominent mainstream recording artists in the music industry, setting and breaking several records throughout her career. Her achievements led her to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2009.[2] She has won many awards including six Grammy Awards, sixteen Billboard Music Awards, eleven Academy of Country Music Awards and seven American Music Awards, along with being nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
