Mass Effect 4 Launch Expected Next Year: Customization, New Characters, New Galaxy Frontiers
Two years since the release of Mass Effect 3, fans have been eagerly awaiting for the official launch of the follow-up Mass Effect 4. According to reports, development and design work for Mass Effect 4 was revealed to have started back in late 2012. Some teaser information were also disclosed at the San Diego Comic Con, including an information that multiplayer would return. Since then, the BioWare Montreal team has been constantly communicating with fans through the company's official Twitter and forum page.
But most recently, things are starting to clear about the new exciting features that will come out of Mass Effect 4. As early as now, it is being touted as the grandest game from the Mass Effect franchise with its upgraded content and look that started in 2007.
One of the biggest surprises for the new Mass Effect is that it will feature a brand new designed world, which seems like a new feat for the franchise compared to the past installments. Fans can now see their favorite characters in a new breathtaking environment and exciting exploration of divergent areas of the galaxy.
Two of the franchise' known characters such as Omega and Citadel are both expected to be back for the new game, as well as appearances from original heroes and anti-heroes of the game. And new faces will also be introduced, protagonists will all be mortals, and of course Mass Effect 4 will have Commander Shepherd's official departure.
Fans will also be delighted to know that The Mako, the special space rover is now a regular part of the game. Compared to previous installments, it's said to be customizable now and more easier to operate.
BioWare has yet to release an official statement, but experts believe BioWare wants to focus this year for Dragon Age: Inquisition with its upcoming launch this October.
