For the followers of the 'Left Behind' movie, there is some good news for you. A new trailer of the movie has been unveiled and the movie is scheduled to be released on 3^rd October.

The film's synopsis as read on the IMDB page says, "A small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction." The film stars Nicolas Cage and Chad Michael Murray feature in the blockbuster version of popular Christian films series. Nicolas Cage takes the role of a pilot while Chad Michael Murray plays a journalist. 'Left Behind' also stars Nicky Whelan, Lea Thompson, Quinton Aaron, Jordin Sparks and others.

The latest installment of the exciting series is quite different from the original film which was produced 14 years ago by Kirk Cameron. The producer and writer of the 'Left Behind', Paul Lalonde told The Blaze, "The reason to bring 'Left Behind' back is [two-fold]: one is to make it bigger and better, so that we can have a broader reach and a shot at a broader audience. The first time we did it it was a straight to DVD production." Of late, religion films and the rapture have been popular topics in the mainstream media.

The producer goes ahead and said, "I think a lot of the core Christian audience, I think they're going to be surprised at the clarity with which we presented the rapture. I think people are expecting it to be completely buried and barely mentioned." The movie is based from the novel series of the same name, which was written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. It was kind of a reboot of the original 'Left Behind' which was released nearly 14 years back.

In the same vein with left behind is a controversial HBO series, 'The Leftovers', which tackles the lives of people living in New York who are left behind after the so called Sudden departure. "Left Behind: The End Begins" is set to be released on October in the United States through Stoney Lake Entertainment. All we have to do is wait and see how the new release goes.
