Story Behind CAIN and Brooke Ligertwood's “Jesus Lifted Me”

Award-winning sibling trio CAIN and globally recognized worship leader Brooke Ligertwood have joined forces to release their vibrant new single, "Jesus Lifted Me", now available on all digital music platforms.
What began as an unplanned moment in Nashville has grown into a song of redemption and joy destined to resonate with audiences everywhere. Last summer, Brooke Ligertwood made a brief stop in Music City and was invited by longtime friend and songwriter Jason Ingram to "gate crash" a writing session with CAIN. Though she only expected to drop in, the chemistry in the room led to a powerful collaboration.
"CAIN's music had been the soundtrack to our school runs for a long time," Brooke shares. "That day we wrote 'Jesus Lifted Me', and the demo immediately became a family favorite-on repeat in the car, by special request from my kids."
Months later, the Cain siblings-Logan, Taylor, and Madison-asked Brooke to step out from the writing seat and behind the microphone to record the track alongside them. The result is a soaring, harmony-rich anthem that blends CAIN's signature joyful sound with Brooke's heartfelt worship voice.
The song proclaims the timeless testimony of grace:
"I thank God day and night / I'm not where I used to be / Glory! hallelujah! / Jesus lifted me!"
"Jesus Lifted Me is about the ongoing, life-changing power of Jesus," Brooke continues. "He did this, and He is still doing this."
Written by Jason Ingram, Logan Cain, Madison Cain Johnson, Taylor Cain Matz, and Brooke Ligertwood, the single highlights the collaborative heart of today's worship community and offers a message of celebration and hope to listeners everywhere.
"Now it's time for our song to make its way out of my Kia and into yours," Brooke laughs. "We can't wait for you to sing along."
