Rev. Lawrence Thomison Releases New Single “He Straightened Me Out”

With a soulful and raspy timbre that blends power, control, and authenticity, Rev. Lawrence Thomison has long been celebrated as one of Gospel music's quintessential traditional male vocalists. For over fifty years, Thomison has ministered through song across the United States and abroad, earning a GRAMMY® nomination for his acclaimed Never Let Go of His Hand album and three Rhythm of Gospel Awards.
Following the success of his 2019 live project Going To Church (Live)-which produced fan favorites such as I Can Go To The Rock and He's Coming Back-Rev. Thomison is now releasing the project's most requested track, "He Straightened Me Out."
Written by the late Dewitt Johnson and produced by the late Gospel legend Derrick Lee, "He Straightened Me Out" captures Thomison's signature homegrown vocal style infused with blues-inspired passion. The single features powerhouse backing from Cedric Sesley & Out For Souls, whose soaring harmonies elevate the song to a rousing, spirit-filled climax.
Lyrically, "He Straightened Me Out" testifies to God's redemptive power amid life's mistakes and challenges. Thomison delivers a heartfelt reminder that God is a forgiving God-always ready to restore, redeem, and make all things well.
"He Straightened Me Out" is now available on all digital music platforms and is currently impacting Gospel radio nationwide.
