Colton Dixon Shares Powerful Testimony of Daughter’s Miracle Birth

Award-winning Christian artist Colton Dixon is opening up about a life-changing moment he and his wife, Annie, experienced during the birth of their twin daughters in 2020 - a moment he calls nothing short of a miracle.
In an interview with CBN News, Dixon recounted the terrifying sequence of events surrounding the arrival of daughter Ava Dior, who was born unresponsive after complications during delivery.
"Not the way you want to meet your daughter for the first time," Dixon reflected. "My wife did so well throughout the pregnancy, but after labor stalled and a C-section was needed, Ava had made her way into the birth canal and her body just didn't know what to do with all of that. When she came out, she wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse - it was terrifying."
In those critical moments, the "Build a Boat" singer said he and Annie leaned on their faith in God. "We were faced with a faith or fear decision," Dixon said. "We chose faith. We started to pray and believe that God is who He says He is, and He's still a God of miracles."
As doctors and nurses worked to revive Ava, Dixon recalls watching in awe as their prayers were answered. "Whether it was God reaching down and touching her or working through those doctors and nurses, we saw little Ava Dior start to breathe and have a pulse. It was a wild, wild moment."
The couple boldly prayed over their daughter in the delivery room, unashamed of how it might appear to the medical staff. "We probably looked really weird to the doctors and nurses, but, in that moment, we did not care at all," Dixon added.
Today, Ava Dior is thriving - a living testimony to the power of faith and prayer. Dixon, who continues to share his story of hope and perseverance, has also released a new children's book inspired by his hit song, Build a Boat, reminding families to trust God even in life's most uncertain waters.
