Melanie Penn Releases Uplifting New Single “Let There Be Light (The Morning)”

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Melanie Penn returns with her inspiring new single, "Let There Be Light (The Morning)," now available on all streaming platforms. Known for her ability to weave faith, storytelling, and artistry into memorable songs, Penn delivers a track that celebrates the hope and renewal found in God's creation and the dawning of a new day.
Melanie Penn's journey to becoming one of today's most distinctive voices in faith-based music began in Falls Church, Virginia, where she grew up in a Christian home and began classical voice training in sixth grade. After moving to New York City to pursue musical theater, Penn's life took a profound turn following the events of 9/11, leading her to Redeemer Presbyterian Church and a deepened faith. She went on to perform in professional musicals, including a national Broadway tour of Grease! alongside Frankie Avalon, before turning her focus fully to songwriting and recording.
Since her debut album Wake Up Love in 2010, Penn has released a series of critically acclaimed independent projects, including Hope Tonight (2014), Immanuel (2017) - which reached #1 on Amazon's Christian, Worship, and Holiday Download charts - Immanuel: The Folk Sessions (2019), More Alive Vol. 1 (2020), and More Alive Vol. 2 (2022). Blending indie pop, folk rock, Americana, and alternative country, her music offers a unique mix of poetic lyricism and a quietly confident Christian worldview.
With "Let There Be Light (The Morning)," Penn invites listeners into a moment of joy, gratitude, and worship. The single's warm instrumentation and uplifting chorus reflect the comfort of God's promise that His mercies are new every morning.
