Anike Embraces Motherhood with New Single "Ultrasound"

Christian rap artist Anike, formerly known as Wande, releases her new single, "Ultrasound," out now via Reach Records. One of her most intimate and vulnerable offerings to date, the empowering track is an ode to new motherhood, and a unique reflection of Anike's deep appreciation for God's guidance.
Earlier this week, Anike shared the news of her pregnancy with the world. The mother-to-be uploaded a breathtaking visualizerto Instagram that coincided with the announcement. In the video, the camera slowly zooms out as Anike embraces the love and light that parenting brings. Now, "Ultrasound" crystalizes her tangible excitement for motherhood, bound together by a hard-won sense of profound fulfillment.
Speaking on the new single, Anike shares: "'Ultrasound' is a song celebrating the next chapter in my life as I step into motherhood. With major life changes, a natural human reaction may be to freak out. However, God has shown me that He's had the blueprint to my life all along, so I can celebrate knowing He's in control and has great plans for me and my upcoming child's life. The song sonically displays the feeling of something coming to life from calm to electric. The words are encouragement, a prayer that I can speak into my future child's life as well as words that can still speak life into God's children both young and old."
Adding to her recent highlights, just last week, Anike's song "WAKANDE" was included in the "Sleeper Picks" segment of the Joe Budden Podcast. Further solidifying her status as a rising star, the single is a fan favorite from her debut album, EXIT. The unexpected co-sign further underscores Anike's growing influence across Christian music and cements her position as a force to be reckoned with.

In summer 2024, Anike changed her legal and artist name from Wande, noting "This change is deeply meaningful to me, reflecting a departure from my old legal names, Mutiat and Yewande, which carried meaning not aligned with my faith such as reincarnation, and devotion to other gods. The name Anike means "someone you cherish, care for, love, and don't take for granted." It serves as a reminder of my inherent worth, cherished by my Creator, and this affirmation is something I wish to echo through my music.
