Kay Arthur, Renowned Bible Teacher and Founder of Precept Ministries International, Passes Away

Kay Arthur, beloved Bible teacher, author, and co-founder of Precept Ministries International, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at the age of 91. A tireless servant of the Lord, Kay devoted her life to helping people know God through His Word, leaving a global legacy of biblical literacy and spiritual transformation.
Kay Arthur co-founded Precept Ministries with her husband Jack Arthur in 1970. With a passion for truth and a gift for teaching, she pioneered the inductive Bible study method, empowering millions across the globe to study Scripture for themselves. Under her leadership, Precept Ministries expanded to more than 180 countries and translated Bible study materials into over 70 languages.
A prolific author, Kay wrote more than 100 books and Bible studies, including the bestselling "Lord" series, such as Lord, I Want to Know You, Lord, Teach Me to Pray, and Lord, Where Are You When Bad Things Happen?. Her foundational work How to Study Your Bible remains a cornerstone resource for individual and group study around the world.
Her award-winning program Precepts for Life was broadcast internationally, reaching millions with accessible, in-depth biblical teaching. Kay's voice-bold, compassionate, and uncompromising in truth-has shaped generations of believers, teachers, and leaders.
In addition to her public ministry, Kay Arthur was known for her personal commitment to discipleship, mentorship, and living out the truths of Scripture with integrity and grace. Her legacy continues through the ongoing mission of Precept Ministries and the countless lives transformed by her work.
Kay is survived by her children, grandchildren, the global Precept community, and the multitudes she taught and inspired. Funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
