Justin Bieber Mourns the Loss of his Maternal Grandfather Bruce Dale

Justin Bieber is mourning the loss of his maternal grandfather, Bruce Dale, who passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 80. Dale died peacefully at the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth in Ontario, Bieber's hometown .
In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, Bieber shared a throwback photo from 2009 and reminisced about their cherished moments together, including attending hockey games and sharing snacks. He expressed his deep sorrow, writing, "I will miss u. I will ache. And I'll sit and let myself remember all of the wonderful times we've had."
Bieber has been open about his Christian faith, often expressing his beliefs through his music and public statements. His involvement with Hillsong Church and his relationship with Pastor Carl Lentz have been well-documented, indicating a strong commitment to his spiritual journey . In his tribute to his grandfather, Justin wrote, "I can't wait to see u again soon in heaven," reflecting his belief in an afterlife and the comfort he finds in his faith during times of loss.
Bruce Dale was a significant figure in Bieber's life, having been married to Diane Dale since 1981 and raising Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, from the age of five. He was known for his unwavering support of his grandson's career, often attending concerts and events, and even appearing in Bieber's documentaries, such as "Never Say Never" and "Seasons."
Dale is survived by his wife Diane, his children-including Pattie Mallette-and six great-grandchildren, including Bieber's son, Jack Blues, born in August 2024.
