Don Reid reflects on this legacy album:
"AMEN was our final studio album and was always meant to be from the very
conception, thus the title.
We knew when we walked out of the studio that night after recording our final song,
'Jesus Living Next to Me', that we would never look through the huge glass window and
see our long-time friend and producer Jerry Kennedy, sitting by the soundboard, smiling
and looking back at us and giving us the thumbs up again.
We knew we would never listen to a playback together and enjoy the friendship of a
roomful of magnificent musicians again.
We knew it was over; we knew it was our decision; and we had a sweet feeling of love
and accomplishment after forty years of making music as the four of us went off
together to celebrate with dinner." -Don Reid
