Dan Bremnes Launches New Year of Music With “Started With You”
Curb Records artist Dan Bremnes launches a new year of music by going back to the beginning with arresting new song "Started With You," out today (1/17) - listen HERE. The official music video for the atmospheric pop track also premieres today on YouTube - watch HERE.
A tale of coming back to life, Bremnes credits his Maker for salvation and relief as easily as he credits his loved ones for sticking by his side when he hit rock bottom on "Started With You." Part gratitude, part grapple, the raw original reveals the singer-songwriter, at times, gasping for air as he wrestles down hope. He lays himself bare with a guttural vocal as he delivers transparent lyrics like these:
I bled. And I cried.
I wrestled with my pride.
'Cause I wanted to be free again.
I wanted to see the light.
I thought for sure you'd leave me there.
I thought for sure I'd die.
But you kept holding onto me.
Now I'm alive.
A song for those at the end of their rope, "Started With You" offers a light at the end of the tunnel for anyone who's ever felt forsaken. Bremnes co-penned the powerful selection with Anton Göransson and Isabella Sjöstrand.
"Started With You" is the first to come in a line of fresh releases from Bremnes this year as he plots a course toward the follow-up to 2022's critically acclaimed Into the Wild. Alongside fan favorites, the Canada native will preview new music for audiences live this spring in select U.S. cities, providing direct support for Katy Nichole on the award-winning songstress' "In Jesus Name Tour."
