David Glenn Returns After a 10-Year Hiatus with a New Album to Come

Christian recording artist David Glenn returns this holiday season with the new single, "Hope Has Come to Reign." The festive Christmas track was produced by Scotty Wilbanks (Third Day, Luke Bryan), who is also taking the reins of Glenn's upcoming sophomore album, Brand New Day - due in early 2024.
A decade may have passed since the release of his acclaimed debut album, Relentless, but the singer-songwriter and worship leader has been far from idle. Glenn spent much of the last decade heading up the music at his home church in Atlanta, and more recently, touring with Third Day's Mark Lee.
Q: David, thank you for doing this interview with us. Ten years have passed since you released your last album, "Relentless." What has happened in this last decade?
I've been growing as a husband, father and spiritual leader of my home-in addition to leading worship at my home church and touring-my wife and I now have three children, 10, 6 and 3.
Q: What or who encouraged you to return to recording new music again?
The new songs really seem to resonate with people, everytime I share with the people at my shows have been telling me "you need to record these songs"-
Q: How did you get to work with your current producer, Scotty Wilbanks (Third Day, Luke Bryan)?
I met Scotty when he was touring with NewSong (...just before Third Day). At that time, Scotty produced three of my songs and he then shared them with Eddie Carswell. The next thing I knew I was on the bus touring with NewSong. Scotty and I have been friends ever since.
Q: Tell us more about your new single "Hope Has Come to Reign"?
It is a fun, upbeat call to worship celebrating the prophecy found in Isaiah and the prophecy fulfilled in Luke 2. A song to corporately celebrate the hope that we have in Jesus, and He will reign forevermore.
Q: How has your music or understanding of music changed over these years?
I've continued to write songs but now I write them more for me...messages I need to hear and be reminded of myself.
Q: Give us a little sneak peek into your forthcoming album "Brand New Day."
Each song sounds completely different musically, but has similarities in the same underlying themes of fresh starts, new beginnings, hope, forgiveness and choosing to bless the Lord no matter our circumstances. No matter what the day may bring, good or bad, it's a day that God has given us and we will rejoice.
Q: How has your faith grown since your last album, "Relentless"?
God has continued to teach and grow me through His word throughout my journey-as a husband, father, songwriter and worship leader.
