Pope Francis forms an advisory board to reform Roman Catholic Church

Pope Francis decided to form an advisory board combined of eight cardinals with the purpose to reform the Roman Catholic Church, according to the Vatican.

The board is supposed to advice the pope in the governing and to help change the church’s administration. The board includes Francisco Javier Errazuriz Ossa of Santiago, Chile; Oswald Gracias of Mumbai, India; Oscar Andres Rodriquez Maradiaga of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya of Kinshasa, Congo; Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello, governor of Vatican City; Reinhard Marx of Munich, Germany; George Pell of Sydney, Australia, and O'Malley of Boston, U.S. 

The group’s secretary is Monsignor Marcello Semeraro, an Italian archbishop. The first formal meeting of the group is scheduled to be held in October in Rome.

Rev. Thomas Rosica said on behalf of the Vatican, “The group will not in any way interfere in the normal functions of the Roman Curia, which helps the Pope in the daily governance of the Church."
