Wife and Daughter Stand by Hillsong Founder Brian Houston After Resignation & Scandal

Wife and daughter of Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston have spoken out after Pastor Brian's resignation from the mega-church earlier this week. Pastor Brian resigned as the Global Senior Pastor after an internal investigation revealed that Pastor Brian had responded inappropriately to two women.
The first issue was approximately a decade ago and involved inappropriate text messages from Pastor Brian to a member of staff, which subsequently resulted in the staff member resigning. The second issue involved a drunked Pastor Brian knocking on the door of a hotel room that was not his, entering this room and spending time with the female occupant.
Bobbie Houston, who has been married to Pastor Brian since 1977, is standing by her man. She starts off her tweet with thanks to friends and church members who have prayed for them. "Thank you for lovely comments and love. It's seen. And felt. And appreciated,
"I'm okay. It's been a very cruel week - but I will forever stand alongside the man I have loved and walked with for 45 years. I know his nature and character and integrity more than ANYONE."
Similarly, their daughter Laura Toggs is standing by her dad. "I choose to text my beloved dad 'I love you' a thousand times again - and I choose my bravest of brave mum,' she wrote just before the resignation was confirmed.
"When you have a platform, people grow from your suffering, because with a platform, you suffer out loud. When you grieve, you grieve in front of everybody.
"When you hurt, you hurt in front of everybody. And there is no place to hide... and everyone inspects your wounds. When you LOVE much, you grieve much, and there is no simple way around it. If we can be constantly humiliated publicly, then I am tempted to express my crushing pain publicly."
Pastor Brian has left Australia. He is currently in his California home and he won't be returning to Australia until his trial in December.
