Hannah Kerr Sings About How Jesus Assigns Shame to Its "Grave"

Singer and songwriter Hannah Kerr drops her new single "Grave" today. Despite the song's title, "Grave" is a very encouraging song that speaks of how Jesus has removed shame out of our lives through his cross and resurrection.
Kerr explains, "I wrote this song about a year ago and remember feeling SO excited about it the whole time we were writing it. it's a song that helped me say goodbye to the shame I was dealing with in my life and it truly means so much to me."
Shame impersonating the truth
Trying to get my attention
I used to think it was you
Trying to teach me a lesson
But it's just a shout with really nothing left to say
Your love's too loud to let that broken record play
You took my shame
And left it in the grave
Grave
You left it in the grave
Grave
Now, I'm set free to live free
I'm set free like I was meant to be
No, I won't give one more day
To what you left in the grave
Left in the grave
Kerr made her debut in 2016 with the release of Overflow. This album earned her more than 20 million streams and featured her Top 15 hit "Warrior," as well as her version of Matt Maher's Top 5 hit "Your Love Defends Me." Co-written by Kerr, "Your Love Defends Me" propelled her to win the award for Most Played Song award at the 2018 ASCAP Christian Awards. In celebration of the second anniversary of her Christmas album Christmas Eve in Bethlehem, Hannah recorded a deluxe edition of the album in 2020 featuring the new single "Here To Stay," featuring Michael Cochren of Cochren & Co and four additional new songs. Christmas Eve in Bethlehem: Deluxe Edition is digitally available to stream and download now HERE.
