Crystal Lewis Announces that Tori Kelly Recorded a Duet with Her

Four-time Dove Award-winning, GOLD recording artist Crystal Lewis announces over social media that she has recorded a brand new duet with pop songstress Tori Kelly. The new song will be available from Lewis' upcoming duets album. The record was lovingly financed by her fans via Kickstarter. Though Lewis has yet to announce the tracklisting or release date of her duets album, some of the guests who will appear on the record include her daughter Izzy Ray, Ty Herndon, Terron Brooks, Kamilah Marshall, Eden Espinosa, Ally Brooke, Kate Flannery, Nikki Leonto, Lia Booth, Mike Murray and Charles Jones.
Lewis announces, "Well... now that my Kickstarter backers have been notified I can FINALLY announce that Ms. Tori Kelly is one of my duet partners!!! I'm BEYOND thrilled because I adore her!"
Lewis also reveals what it was like recording with Kelly. "Not only is Tori a ridiculously... like, outrageously, great vocalist (honestly... the effortless freedom with which she sings defies her age... she sings like someone who's been doing it for 100 years. Enviable. Inspiring) but she is a stellar human. Kind, funny and just a joy to be around! I'm so anxious for you to hear the song we did!!"
The new duet is called "She Was Here" and it was written by Lewis. "I wrote it with women like US in mind. Young women with dreams, middle aged women with dreams, seasoned women with dreams... who've done things and led the way. Who've been inspired by the women who've gone before them... and who've inspired the women who are following in their footsteps. She. You. Me."
Earlier, Lewis revealed that she has also recorded a duet with country music artist Ty Herndon. "Ty Herndon and I recorded a completely new version/arrangement (thank you @tonyguerreroquintet ) of the R. E. M. song Everybody Hurts. It's haunting. And very special. I met Ty a few years ago through mutual friends (@jeremyryanstudios and @michaelpassons) and we have not only worked together a bunch, but have become dear friends... I think that's pretty obvious:)
I've heard this man perform live several times now... and I can say with unwavering honesty that he is incredible. FEW in the world can match his consistent pitch, his dynamic range, his unique tone or his energy on stage. He is a singers singer. I'm honored to have him on this record!!"
