Sandra Bullock To Produce TV Version of "Miss Congeniality," According to Inside Source
You just can't keep Sandra Bullock down. The multi-talented starlet is nominated for an Emmy for the movie "Gravity," but she's rumored to have her sights sets a little closer to Earth...
Bullock is reportedly planning on producing a comedic TV version of one of her most famous starring roles, "Miss Congeniality." Bullock is no stranger to the producer role; she acted as producer for "The George Lopez Show" from 2002 to 2007, and has professed her love for the behind-the-scenes role.
A source close to Bullock described the new adaptation as "'Bridesmaids' meets '24'." The source also said, "Sandra loved her 'Miss Congeniality' FBI agent character Gracie Hart and the concept so much that for years she has continued to keep up friendships with FBI agents she met while researching it."
Bullock is known for a diverse repertoire of roles, including a starring role in "The Blind Side," for which she won an Academy Award. She played FBI agent Gracie Hart, who goes undercover at a national beauty pageant, in both "Miss Congeniality" and "Miss Congeniality 2." She took on another FBI agent role alongside funnywoman Melissa McCarthy in the 2013 comedy "The Heat."
The source close to Sandra reported that the starlet is eagerly perusing actresses to take on the beloved role of Gracie Hart. "Sandra loves that real FBI agents, particularly female ones, continue to respond to and write her letters about both 'Miss Congeniality' and 'The Heat,' the source reported. "Sandra just feels like it's time to bring this story to a new generation!"
