Songs for Mental Health Awareness Month

This week is mental health awareness week in the UK and May is "Mental Health Awareness Month" or MHA month in the US. This is very important time for us recognize that there are people in our lives, our churches, and our families who are struggling with mental health issues. Rather than to isolate them, we need to pray, encourage, and show them the love Jesus wants us to show.
Another way we can encourage people suffering from mental illnesses is to worship. In worship, we are reminded of our true identity in Christ. We also reminded that Jesus loves us despite our fallenness. And in worship we also seek God for the healing of our minds and hearts. Here are some songs that remind us of the immense love of Christ and our identity in him. Worship leaders will do well to incorporate these songs in their song sets this month in honor of MHA.
1. Sarah Kroger "Belovedness"
2. Andrew Peterson "Be Kind to Yourself"
3. Hannah Kerr "Same God"
4. Bethel Music Featuring Dante Bowe "Champion"
5. David Leonard "Threads"
