Beatles Documentary Directed by Ron Howard Coming to Theaters in 2015
News has recently broken about a new Beatles documentary set to be made in the next year. They're getting by with a little help from their friend Ron Howard, who will be the director and producer of this authorized documentary.
The documentary will focus primarily on the touring years of the Beatles, which were 1960 through 1966. Howard will be joined by producers Brian Grazer, Nigel Sinclair, and Scott Pascucci. The documentary will also be headed by a slew of executive producers, including Michael Rosenberg from 'Imagine," Guy East from 'White Horse,' as well as Jeff Jones and Jonathan Clyde, who represent Apple Corps. Apple is the company responsible for determing the best interests of the Beatles.
Apple, White Horse, and Imagine Entertainment (Howard's company) will be working together with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, and Olivia Harrison in order to make the film happen. Howard plans to have the film, which remains untitled at this time, in theaters by the end of 2015.
"I am excited and honored to be working with Apple and the White Horse team on this astounding story of these four young men who stormed the world in 1964," Howard said. "Their impact on popular culture and the human experience cannot be exaggerated."
The film will feature a heavy amount of concert footage, some of which was shot by fans on hand-held cameras. Howard speculates that the finished documentary will contain twelve to twenty of the Beatles' most popular songs.
