Homeland Season 4, Brody is Dead: Carrie Becomes Promoted Overseas to Station Chief
Homeland is back. The fourth season of the installment will be back by the end of the fall according to show runner Alex Gansa. Some of the fans do not have a lot of excitement for the next installment of the season seeing as the last season was a bit climactic. It ended with the death of the main male protagonist. For those who do not know, sergeant Nicholas Brody was publicly executed and show runner; Gansa states that the show is going in a new direction for the new season to avoid the staleness of picking up the pieces in the aftermath. The villain is dead; now what?
The next season will feature the promotion and transfer of Carrie Mathison to one of the most dangerous and volatile regions of the middle East as the station chief. The interesting thing is that we will see her actually engaging in what she was trained to do in the first place. She will be stationed in Islamabad and Kabul as a station chief, now she is a case officer in a foreign country. She has always wanted to be back on the front lines fighting terror and now she will have her wish. For those of you who think it will become a one-woman show are wrong. Carrie will be back with her entire team on the frontlines. Knowing Carrie of course, she will hand pick them as she has in the past.
This will see Fara, Quinn, Virgil and maybe Max along for the ride. The other plot developments include the question mark of Carrie's baby, her father and her condition. Her father will be gone as the actor playing the role, James Rebhorn succumbed to cancer at 65. Showtime may handle the situation any number of ways but it is safe to assume the worst. Carrie's baby will have to tie her down but with the way her career is; which one is going to take a back seat, will she give it up for adoption or will it come with her overseas? Similarly, now that the wolf is dead, we get to focus on peacetime issues and one of these second tier problems will surface: like her bipolar disorder. Is she fit to be a mother in these conditions? You be the judge.
