Scandal Season 4 Premiere Date Set for September 25 and Exciting Spoilers Released by Show Creator Shonda Rhimes in TV Guide Interview
"Scandal" fans, rejoice! ABC announced yesterday in an official press release that the fourth season of Shonda Rhimes' "Scandal" would air on Thursday, September 25. Thursdays shall henceforth be known as "Shonda Night," since "Scandal" will be followed by Rhimes' new drama series, "How to Get Away With Murder."
The president of ABC Entertainment, Paul Lee, recently spoke at the Television Critics Association press tour and informed press that the fourth season of "Scandal" will air twenty-two episodes. Fans were delighted by this news, especially after a somewhat shortened third season due to Kerry Washington's pregnancy.
Shonda Rhimes, the creator of "Scandal," answered some burning questions that viewers had after the finale of season three. In her interview with TVGuide.com, Rhimes said,"When we leave (at the end of season three), she's (Olivia) on a plane headed to God knows where. When we come back into the season, we find ourselves is a surprising place both time-wise and location-wise."
In response to the love triangle between Olivia, Jake, and Fitz, Rhimes said, "He (Jake) goes off with her (Olivia) knowing full well that she's very clear about her feelings for somebody else. So, whatever that relationship is, as fun or romantic or happy as that will be, she's very clearly in love with another man (Fitz). I don't know what that holds for them. They have to face whatever that's going to mean."
Rhimes also revealed that we will be seeing much more of Maya and Rowan Pope this season, and less of Harrison because yes, he did die. "It's safe to assume that Harrison has met his end," Rhimes stated.
Tune in to ABC on September 25 at 9 p.m. to catch the season four premiere of "Scandal."
