Chonda Pierce and Miss Pattycake to Perform at “World’s Largest Online VBS”
The best-selling female comedian of all time, Chonda Pierce, and children's ministry favorite, Miss Pattycake, have been added to the growing list of performers and presenters for the WOW VBS, a four-day Virtual Bible Spectacular Event taking place the last two weeks of June. Churches and individuals from over nineteen different countries are now signed up for the event which is offered free to everyone.
The WOW VBS live stream broadcast event will feature various children's ministry hosts, guest artists, and celebrity cameos from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Each 30 to 40 minute program will include worship, Bible stories and teaching, magic, games, and a presentation of the Gospel message. Scott Humston, a renowned family entertainer and evangelist and one of the WOW VBS organizers, says their goal is to reach over one million children.
"We are hoping to get 10,000 churches to join the WOW live streams," says Humston. "Our goal is to have one million kids be part of this incredible, first-time event. In a scary, uncertain time when our children need some laughter and fun in their lives, we are also mindful that our kids also need to hear the Good News that can change their lives forever."
Chonda Pierce is a five-time Emmy nominee and is ranked amongst Pollstar's top-selling live performers. She is a frequent guest on the "Grand Ole Opry" and has appeared on various television shows and network including Entertainment Tonight, The View, and Fox News, to name a few.
For over two decades, Jean Thomason has brought Miss Pattycake to life in order to entertain and educate hundreds of thousands of children. Her new book, "Sharing God's Big Love with Little Lives," was recently released by Worthy Publishers.
Steve Pennington, director of Faith Kidz and co-organizer for WOW VBS, says the events will also help the participating entertainers who have been hurt financially due to tour and event cancellations.
"Though the events are completely free to everyone, we are accepting donations that will help cover the production costs as well as pay these incredible ministry leaders," says Pennington.
WOW VBS will stream live June 22-25 with repeat streaming June 29-July 2. Churches, families, and individuals can register for free at .
