Lee Brice Asks Us All To Take Pause To Appreciate The Little Things With “Hey World”
In a time of uncertainty and the unprecedented anxiety facing our global community, Country music star Lee Brice has released a new track, "Hey World," in response to the pressures of the current COVID-19 health crisis.
The song was written by Brice, Dallas Davidson and Adam Wood in late March after the mounting frustration of a constant cycle of bad news with no clear end in sight.
"We wrote this song from an introspective, truthful place and probably what most people are actually feeling right now," says Brice. "With everything that is happening in the world currently and how fast paced we are as a society in general, sometimes you just want everything to stop - just to appreciate what we do have. People are suffering and it can't be ignored."
Today, Brice also released the official music video for "Hey World." The stripped down video shot at his home in Nashville, TN illustrates the quiet and solitude we all search for when life becomes too much to manage and how quickly we are reminded of the important things that make it all worth-while.
The track follows Brice's recently released radio single, "One of Them Girls," from his forthcoming album out later this year. The song, which is Lee's fastest rising single to date, is already making a big impact - it reached #1 on iTunes Top Country Songs, and was the Hot Shot Debut on Billboard at #35. "One of Them Girls" has been streamed over 7.5 million times, alongside 3.68 million views of the official music video, since the song and official video dropped on April 10th. Brice is also currently in the Top 10 of Country Radio on his duet with Carly Pearce, the RIAA Certified Gold "I Hope You're Happy Now," which has 111 million on-demand streams.
