Check Out Shaylee Simeone's New Single 'Ashes to Skies'

For anyone who has ever made a mistake, the idea of God's forgiveness might seem difficult to comprehend. Through raw lyrics and honest questions, Nashville-based singer/songwriter and worship leader Shaylee Simeone deepens her understanding of Christ's sacrifice through the realization that she, too, is a part of the redemptive work He is doing. Inspired by moments of feeling unworthy to be a worship Leader, Simeone likens God's work in her to a now-beautiful cathedral, built from bone and dust. Her latest single 'Ashes to Skies' reminds listeners of God's unending, and often unexpected, grace.
"This song is for anyone who has ever felt undeserving of grace," Simeone says. "To anyone who has struggled to let go of their past and see themselves the way Christ sees them."
Written during her worship residency at Fellowship Bible Church, Simeone wrote 'Ashes to Skies' with the program's leader and founder Carl Cartee. Additionally, the track features the talented Nashville producer and instrumentalist Kenny Davis, as well as gang vocals performed by "a choir of friends" during a live video recording of the song, set to release in March. The first original song she'd introduced to her church's congregation, 'Ashes to Skies' has served as a testament to God's calling on Shaylee's life to lead worship as has already ministered to many, a clear picture of the gospel at work in the body of Christ.
Among musical influences including Brooke Fraser and Steffany Gretzinger, Simeone credits encouragement from her church family, as well as her personal journey to healing as a source of inspiration for her music. Simeone's most-recent single, 'Dearly Loved', has deeply resonated with listeners, having seen 191K+ Spotify streams 1.1M+ streams on Apple Music; in addition, her music has been ranked Top 10 on iTunes, placed top 5 in an international songwriting competition and has opened doors for her to be featured on the Women of Substance Podcast, Women of Worship Spotify playlist and has been a part of several publishing/sync deals.
Simeone feels inspired to release pop-inspired music that is inherently congregational; as a human herself, she is determined to write music she describes as "singable for a normal group of humans." Currently working on her debut EP to be released later this year, Shaylee enjoys serving in youth ministry and is actively leading worship.
Listen to Shaylee's new single, 'Ashes to Skies' to join the celebration of everyone's role in God's redemptive work.
