Hollyn Responds to Critics Who Say Her Songs Are No Longer Christian

Gotee Records' HOLLYN will be releasing her new 6-song EP, bye, sad girl., on September 6. However, Hollyn has been criticised when critics question whether or not she is still a Christian artist. This is because Hollyn's songs from her new EP do not explicity mention God or the Bible.
On social media, Hollyn responds: "It breaks my heart to read these comments because it's a complete misinterpretation of this project, me, and the heart of God."
For Hollyn one doesn't need to mention God in every song because God is in every aspect of life. Rather, these new songs were created to bring healing. "my response to these statements and ones like these would be... isn't God in every aspect of our life? He is a God of process & God of hope."
"If you, your friends, or family, struggle with mental health, emotional health, or trauma... I pray this project meets you right where you're at. whatever your situation is. "
Hollyn (born Holly Miller) is an artist hailing from Waverly, Ohio. In February of 2017,Hollyn released her label debut, One-way Conversations, which peaked at No. 2 on iTunes Pop Albums chart & Top 10 iTunes Top Albums chart and debuted on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart. Since her debut,Hollyn has continued her musical journey by playing more than 220 shows to over one million people the past two years.
She has had five No. 1 Billboard radio singles as an artist and writer with over 210 million combined streams across AppleMusic, Pandora, Spotify and YouTube. Hollyn is poised in the coming years to go to new heights with a soulful voice and a growing presence on Social Media. She's amassed over 257k subscribers on YouTube and nearly 150k followers on Spotify and 200k followers on Instagram.
