Koryn Hawthorne Wins Billboard Music Award

RCA Inspiration recording artist, Koryn Hawthorne, took home the 2019 Billboard Music Award for Top Gospel Song for her chart-smashing debut hit, "Won't He Do It." She was nominated in three categories: Gospel Artist, Gospel Album, and Gospel Song. The single, from her debut full-length album, Unstoppable, peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Songs chart, and held that position for a record-setting 38 weeks, making history for a female Gospel artist. The success of that single led to Hawthorne earning Billboard's 2018 New Gospel Artist honor.
Over the past 18 months, Hawthorne, an alum of The Voice, has experienced an explosion that is difficult to rival. In addition to the multiple Billboard accolades, she is a 2019 GRAMMY® nominee, a 2019 NAACP Image Award winner, a 2019 Stellar Award winner (Music Video of the Year, "Won't He Do It"), and a 2018 Dove Award winner (Contemporary Gospel/Urban Recorded Song of the Year, "Won't He Do It"). She is fast approaching 100 million music streams and 232 million in gross radio airplay impressions. Her award-winning video for "Won't He Do It" has amassed just under 18 million views.
Beginning July 10, Hawthorne will be special guest on Kirk Franklin's 26-city Long Live Love Tour. She will also be performing at the Essence Festival in New Orleans on July 5.
