The 2014 World Cup continues today (June 22) with South Korea vs Algeria as they battle head to head in Group H to advance.
You can watch the South Korea vs. Algeria game live online from ESPN at 3 pm ET from Estádio Beira-Rio, Porto Alegre, Brazil HERE.
Algeria's defense has been great in the World Cup so far, but their biggest weakness comes on the offensive side of the ball with their only goal coming from a penalty shot in their 2-1 loss to Belgium. Maybe they will be able to turn it around in their match with South Korea. South Korea has had issues scoring as well, luckily scoring against Russia and ending the game in a 1-1 tie.
Expected Starting Line-Ups for Sunday's game are:
South Korea: Jung Sung-ryong; Lee Yong, Yoon Sukyoung, Kim Young-gwon, Hong Jeong-ho; Ki Sung-yueng, Han Kookyoung, Lee Chung-young, Son Heung-min, Koo Ja-cheol; Park Chu-young.
Algeria: Mbolhi; Bougherra, Ghoulam, Halliche, Medjani; Bentaleb, Feghouli, Mahrez, Mostefa, Taider; Soudani
SBnation posted some key match-ups:
Son Heung-Min vs. Algeria's defense - South Korea have a couple of pretty good players, though the team's undoubted star is Son Heung-Min, who was one of the revelations in the Bundesliga at Bayer Leverkusen this season. He starts out on the left of an attacking trident for both club and country, and excels at making darting runs inside. His invention could well be the key for South Korea to unlock Algeria's disciplined defence, and keeping him quiet will a priority for Les Fennecs.
Algeria's counter-attacking pace vs. South Korea's defense - Algeria defended excellently against Belgium, and yet failed to create many chances from open play -- despite being best-stocked in the attacking department. They may well have more luck against a shakier defence, with their pace and width on the counter-attack having the potential to cause big problems.
South Korea midfielder Ha Dae-sung has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Algeria with a damaged ligament in his left foot.
South Korea and Algeria have only had one previous head-to-head match, which South Korea won 2-1, 29 years ago. North American TV outlets showing the South Korea vs Algeria game live are ABC, Univision, CBC in Canada.
